Unboxing Your PC: A Guide to Ensuring a Smooth Start

Modified on Wed, 25 Oct 2023 at 09:05 PM

Congratulations! You've just received your Skyforge PC, marking the beginning of a journey into a world of limitless possibilities and unparalleled performance.

However, before you power up your new machine, there are a few steps to take to ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience. In this guide, we'll walk you through what to do when you receive your Skyforge PC.

Inspect the Package

Upon receiving your computer, carefully inspect the package for any signs of damage or mishandling during shipping. If you notice any external damage, take photographs and contact our support team so we can assist with an RMA.

Unboxing with Care

While the excitement may be overwhelming, it's crucial to unbox your computer with care. Gently open the box with a box cutter or small blade. Remove ALL internal packaging including foam, bubble wrap, and any other items. Do not throw away this packaging as it is handy to have in the case of a return, or if you ever need to transport your PC.

Note: We use anti-static packaging to ensure no electrostatic discharge damages your internal components. This packaging is typically pink colored. In any case where you put packaging back into your PC, make sure to use anti-static packaging only. This will prevent the possibility of electrostatic discharge (ESD) from damaging your components.

Double-Check Components

Before powering up your computer, ensure that all the components are present and correctly installed. Verify that the processor, RAM, graphics card, storage devices, and any other peripherals are in place and correctly connected. If you notice any components have come loose or are not fully inserted, contact our support team for assistance.

Check Cable Connections

In rare cases, you may find a cable that has come loose. Loose cables can cause a host of issues, such as power failures or hardware malfunctions. Take a moment to check that all cables are securely plugged in inside the PC. Pay close attention to the power cables, as a loose connection could prevent your PC from turning on.

Powering On Your System

Once you’ve completed the above steps, you are now ready to power on your system. Ensure the power supply switch on the rear of your case is set to the on (I) position. On some units, you may see an LED power indicator light up to indicate your power supply is on.

Click the power button on the top of your case. You should see your system come on, with all of your fans spinning, and all lighting powering on. You are now ready to embark on your gaming journey!
